For efficient performance aof all room air distribution devices, supply air must be delivered to the outlet in the correct quantity, direction and at a uniform velocity.
It is essential that difficult and time consuming site balancing be reduced to a minimum and that provision is available for permanent adjustment of design air quantities to meet unforseen reqs.
The balance module was developed to provide a simple robust device to achieve the objectives and many field installations have shown these objectives are achieved.
Function
The design principle of the Balance Module is to divide the air before the outlet into a number of streamline jets which re-combine into a uniform flow at the rear (side entry) of the outlet. The module is selected to give the required outlet face velocity at a uniform pressure drop.
Application
The BALANCE MODULES replace the conventional outlet dampers and regulators with their uneven and noisy airflow pattern and reduce balancing to adjusting the branch air flow to a group of outlets to give the desired total flow.
This air will then be proportioned automatically by the BALANCE MODULES.On smaller air conditioning systems with 10-20 outlets, it will be satisfactory to adjust the fan speed ot to give total system flow and no further balancing is required.
Should site adjustment to design air flow be required, the BALANCE MODULES are replaced with modules of different flow rating to give an accurate and permanent adjustment. Prefer to arrangement and installation procedures described on page.
